Mrs.Webster's Educational Experience
- I have worked in Urbana School District #116 my entire educational career.
- I began my career as an eighth grade English Teacher at Urbana Middle School in 1997.
- I taught eighth grade English for ten years at Urbana Middle School.
- I served as sixth grade dean at Urbana Middle School for four years.
- I was an assistant principal at Urbana Middle School for two years.
- I am currently enjoying my second year as the principal at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School.
My philosophy of education is student-centered. All decisions, policies, and procedures must be based on what is in the best interest of students and student growth. Students must be encouraged to take an active role in their learning by educators that challenge and encourage them to succeed. Students' individual learning styles and cultural differences must be embraced, respected, and incorporated into daily instruction. I firmly believe that all students can and will learn when they are surrounded by people (teachers, staff members, parents, community members, etc.) that believe in them and work together to encourage all students to succeed.
